The Charm of Dubai for Little Travelers
What you need to know before you go
Dubai is a destination that delights travelers of all ages, but the experience of exploring Dubai with children can be even more special. When we decided to visit Dubai, we thought about the weather, because in January, if we went to Europe or the United States, for example, we would have to face intense cold, and here we are not very fond of the cold. Dubai in July has extremely high temperatures, they say it feels like opening a hot oven and that you can’t even wait for a taxi on the street because of the unbearable heat.
My experience in winter was incredible, we didn’t need to wear a sweater, the temperatures were around 25ºC, the hotel pool is heated and there is always some sun during the day. At night there is a little wind, but it’s not cold, you can put on a light jacket if you leave home early and come back later and everything will be fine.
We were apprehensive about the desert tour, as it ends late and is open air, but not even in the desert did we feel the cold that they said we would feel.
Remembering in the post “Exploring the Dubai Desert” I tell you all about the desert.
With impeccable infrastructure and a variety of activities geared towards children, this city in the United Arab Emirates offers a perfect mix of adventure, learning and fun. In addition, the safety and hospitality make the trip much more peaceful for parents.
Planning a trip to Dubai with children requires attention to a few details, such as weather, transportation, and entertainment options. Fortunately, the city has theme parks, safe beaches, shopping malls with children’s attractions, and even desert safaris adapted for little ones. So fun is guaranteed!
The Best Things to Do in Dubai with Kids

One of the highlights of Dubai with kids is the impressive amount of theme parks. IMG Worlds of Adventure, For example, it is an indoor park that offers rides inspired by Marvel heroes and Cartoon Network characters. My son liked this park the most. We also bought a fast pass so we wouldn’t waste time in line, but it wasn’t necessary because there was almost no line for anything. The park was empty. I don’t know if this always happens, but the park was really quiet. This park is where you can find the Spider-Man roller coaster in the dark. It is an indoor park, and the prices are not low, but it is definitely worth a visit if you are traveling with children.
A really cool option that kids love is Ski Dubai attraction located inside a shopping mall in the Jumeirah region, it is a different experience where you can ski, ride a cable car and play on snow-related toys, for us it was well worth it.
For those who go in winter, you can’t miss two attractions that only open in winter, as they are open and not indoors like the others, which are “Miracle Garden” and “Global Village”.
THE Miracle Garden It’s an incredible attraction, it’s so beautiful, get ready to walk around there, because everything in Dubai is grand and very worthwhile.
Another amazing option is the Dubai Parks and Resorts, a complex that includes Legoland Dubai and Motiongate, both ideal for children of all ages.
In addition to the parks, there is the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, Located inside the Dubai Mall. This giant aquarium allows children to get up close and personal with sharks, rays and many other marine species. For animal lovers, the Dubai Safari Park provides an unforgettable experience, where children can see lions, giraffes and elephants up close. The price is a bit steep, but we didn’t think it was worth it, based on the reviews. Plus, there’s a “tasting” of this aquarium when you stroll through the Dubai Mall.
If the idea is something more refreshing, the Aquaventure Waterpark,at the Atlantis The Palm hotel, it is an excellent option. The water park has several pools and water slides adapted for children, as well as a private beach with calm and crystal clear waters. As we went in winter, we did not want to invest in the water park, but if it is suitable for you, you can include it in your itinerary.
For those who are going to visit Abu Dhabi, there is also another theme park. Warner Bros World , But I suggest you buy a fast pass for this park, as there are a lot of lines.
If you like adventure, Ferrari Park can be an incredible option with the fastest roller coaster in the world. There is a day tour ticket including the mosque. Sheikh Zayed e Ferrari World.
Exploring Dubai Culture with Kids
For families looking to combine fun and learning, Dubai also offers a variety of cultural experiences. The Museum of the Future, for example, is an interactive attraction that delights children and adults with innovative technologies and visions of the future. In addition, it is possible to learn more about local history in the Al Fahidi Historical District, where children can explore narrow streets, visit museums and even take a ride on an abra, a traditional boat, along Dubai Creek.
We had an amazing tour which was the cultural lunch with the Bedouins, It is an immersion in Arab culture, we hear stories and taste typical foods, as if we were welcomed into their home, it was truly incredible.
Another unmissable place is the Global Village It is an attraction that opens later and has food, as well as several themed pavilions representing different countries. For children, there are some amusement park rides, but they are paid and the price is not low. The Global Village is a good place to visit the pavilions that are perfect and sell items from each region. There, children can learn about the cultures of different countries, try typical foods and watch themed shows. With a vibrant atmosphere, this attraction provides a unique experience for the whole family.
Practical Tips for Enjoying Dubai with Children
Traveling to Dubai with children requires some special care. It is also recommended to plan outdoor outings for early morning or late afternoon, when temperatures are milder.
Transport in Dubai is modern and efficient, and the metro is a great option for getting around with children. In addition, many shopping malls and tourist attractions offer kids’ spaces, changing facilities and rest areas, making the experience more comfortable for little ones.
In our case we used taxis a lot, as there were three of us, the taxi was worth it and with much more comfort, download the app careem.
Finally, it is important to check the rules of each attraction, as some have height restrictions for certain activities. Planning your itinerary well will ensure that the whole family can make the most of the trip.
